Jon and I are off to Sacramento tomorrow morning. His best friend, Brad, is getting married and Jon is the best man. So, we are hopping in my car at 5:00 am or so, to drive up to Sacramento. (yes Mom and Dad, I already got the oil changed, the car washed, the AAA card in my wallet, and everything checked out.)
Friday afternoon, the boys are golfing and the girls are getting our nails done! Friday night is the rehearsal dinner at Rachel's parent's house. And then the wedding is Saturday late afternoon.
I'm really excited. It is going to be a blast!
So, I've taken a half day today to go get some last minute shit done. I definitely have to do laundry since almost everything I own is dirty. I have to pack, clean up the house, pick up a few things at the store, and then go tan. Not UV ray tan. I'm going to try out the Mystic tan. I've read a lot about it and heard from numerous friends that it works well. I'm a bit nervous about coming out streaked. I hope that doesn't happen! The last thing I want to do is show up at this wedding looking like a zebra! hee hee hee I'll let you know how it goes.
I'll be back on Sunday night. Have a good weekend!
Tonight, Jon and I are off to the Anaheim Edison Field to see the Angels play the Phillies. One of my clients, 1-800dentist, sent me four tickets, plus $20 in concession stand money, 1-800dentist visors, cracker jacks, baby ruth bars, and peanuts! How cool is that? We are going with our downstairs neighbors Jenny and Charley. They are really aweseome people so we thought it would be fun to go with them.
I hope it won't be too cold. It's been cold and rainy here for the last week. Ah well.... we'll bundle up, get some nachos and beer, and watch the Angels KICK PHILLIES BUTTS!
Wow... I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost a month. I guess that is a true testament that I've either been working my ass off or partying like a rock star. Definitely not the latter.
Life has been pretty busy. Work has definitely been bogging me down. Plus, after work, I have been running four days a week, taking pilates two days a week, and weight training three days a week. I am trying to get my body in shape before the onslaught of weddings.... besides the fact that I will be meeting a lot of Jon's family in Indiana mid July and at some point will probably be wearing a bathing suit. I don't want to frighten anyone. hee hee hee
So, let's see... what's new here. It is officially June-gloom time. That means it is pretty overcast and humid until around 3:00 in the afternoon. Then, if we're lucky, it clears up and becomes a nice day in the 70's.
What else... I had an unofficial meeting with the main Manager of the Sales Team. They guy who I interviewed with for the new position. He said that he had already spoken with my Manager and figured out when they'd release me from my current position and start me at my new role as an Account Manager. He thought it would probably be mid-July. So, it sounds really promising... but I've been burned in these situations before. I'm not going to get up and do the happy dance until I've signed the dotted line. I must admit though, deep down.... I'm pretty frickin excited. I'll keep you posted.
Last week, I made mahi mahi for my Mom. Jon was up in Lake Havasu for his best friend's bachelor party so I invited my Mom over for dinner and schmoozing. It was really yummy! I have a great recipe for mahi mahi if anyone is ever interested. It is low fat and very tasty. After dinner, we watched GoldMember together and cracked up. All in all, it was a really fun night.
The week before that, we went over to brother Jon's house for a pool party. That was a blast. We ate and swam and drank and ate and drank, etc.
Last night, my brother, Derek was in town so we had a big BBQ at my Dad's house. It was good to see him. Definitely a quick visit, but still, good to connect.
Saw The Matrix Reloaded and Finding Nemo, both of which I loved. Jon and I even got the Anamatrix DVD which is fierce! The stories are amazing and the animation is flawless.
What else..... we went golfing today. I got a 91 which is the best I've ever done. I even got my first par 3! I jumped up and down and had to tell everyone I saw! :o) I was pretty excited about that.
One last thing.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DICK! Today is Jon's Dad's birthday. I'm sorry we couldn't be there to celebrate but I hope you have had an amazing day! Hopefully we'll see you soon.
