‘Allo, London

Heather and Derek at FOWAHeather and I are in London for FOWA. We did our talk this morning, which was like 2am in our heads, and I think it went pretty good. A few kind souls were kind enough to write up what they saw: Véro, Suw Charman, and Stephanie Booth (who took the photo above). Between the headcold I picked up somewhere over the Atlantic, and the insanity that comes with jetlag, I’m afraid I’m slightly loopy. So if you see me here in London, please forgive me if I stammer, sneeze, and then fall asleep in the middle of a sentence.

Derek (and Heather), was a privilege to see you both speak today. I spotted you at Canning Town station waiting for the DLR, and I’m ashamed to admit I almost screamed like a teen fangirl. I hope London treats you both well.

London is great.
You are just so lucky, because you can visit very exquisite theatres and even underground party locations.

Yours Sincerely.

Was a pleasure to hear you at the FOWA yesterday. (I also must admit I a big fan of you and Heather). See you in Chelm.

Derek, it was awesome (dude!) to meet you in the flesh having been a fan of your work for 10 years. The fact you knew who I was blew me away - I’m pretty sure I still haven’t recovered from that! (I’m wearing my fray t-shirt today as tribute.)

Massive apologies for effectively blanking Heather - I was in dribbling fanboy mode. Great to meet the both of you - ultra-creative people with ideas spilling out all the time. Don’t you go changing!

It was great to hear you and Heather. It’s really refreshing to hear an honest, no fuss talk about communities and the reality of dealing w dunderheads, as you so kindly called them.

Cheers and glad to have attended!

This was one of my favorite talks of the conference. It was funny and insightful. I especially enjoyed getting the chance to speak with Heather afterwards for a bit longer about my questions on the culture of the web and dealing with culture clashes. Thank you so much for everything. I hope I will get the chance to see you both again.
