Amazing tattoo! BTW the Te Papa museum here in Wellington has a few giant squid as well as a colossal squid which was caught in Antarctica last year. Back in April a team of scientists got together and examined them in a custom-built tank, while live-blogging the event and showing progress to the world via SquidCam :-) Lots of great info and pictures are at http://www.tepapa.govt.nz/squid. They are now trying to figure out how to best put it on display for the public to see...can't wait! Greetings from New Zealand from an ex San Franciscan :-)

Hey Derek,

You most likely won't know who I am, but I've been a fan of your writing for a while now. I was just checking up on your website (after having been absent for a while) and I still can't believe that there are more people who are obsessed by giant squids. AWESOME. I really like your tattoo.

Keep it up!
