dotcom documentary days

Did you catch some shrapnel from the dotcom bomb? El Sucka wants to hear your story. He's doing a road trip to gather stories for a documentary.

The idea of a dotcom documentary got me thinking....

Back in 1996 I dreamt up a documentary project called Net Serfs. I wanted to interview the people like me – lower cogs in the digital revolution machines. We were all young, mostly fresh out of school, trained in other things, and suddenly we were all slaving away in startupland.

I did one interview (with Taylor, actually) and even built a website for it. Then I started {fray} and it swept me away.

I've always wondered what my life would have been like if I'd completed Net Serfs. And I wonder if we'd look back at our old net idealism and feel proud ... or embarrassed.
