So there’s this awesome site called Ponoko where you can create your own laser-cut 3D products. And, even better, people can share their designs. So when I wanted a new desk lamp, I visited the site, found an awesome design, downloaded it, gave it my own twist, and ordered my new lamp. The hardest part was finding the right cord online.
I love living in the one-off DIY future.

Web visitors might notice a new header. Take a moment to examine it and ask yourself, which orange dot is larger, the right or the left?
The answer is, neither. They’re exactly the same size. It’s called the Ebbinghaus illusion. The perceptual size of each orange dot changes because of what’s around it.
I like the Ebbinghaus illusion because it’s a reminder that context is everything, and perception is relative. If you can’t figure out what you’re looking at, examine what’s around it instead.

I find it hard to believe that Facebook didn't know about the Burger King campaign from the get-go. Blocking it now is just asking for bad press.

I'd wondered who shot the original photo. Kudos to Reuters and photographer Jim Young for being cool about it.
