Three Events, Three Hats
In my continuing refusal to decide what I want to be when I grow up, I’ve got three events coming up where I get to wear three different hats. And you’re invited! If you’re in San Francisco, come say hi.
- SFAC Gallery 40th Anniversary Celebration and Exhibitions Opening
Friday 12 February 2010 at 6pm, San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, 401 Van Ness Ave.… in which I wear my artist hat. The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a show that includes some of the highlights of the gallery’s past. They’re including some of my photos of the same-sex marriages in San Francisco in 2004.
- Writers With Drinks
Saturday 13 February 2010 at 7:30pm, The Make Out Room, 3225 22nd St.… in which I wear my author hat. Writers With Drinks is a literary variety show. I’ll be reading a story along with Vikram Chandra, Cherie Priest, James Rollins, and Andrew Porter.
- National Magazine Day Panel Discussion
Saturday 27 February 2010 at 6pm, The Booksmith, 1644 Haight Street… in which I wear my publisher hat. Kevin Smokler is putting on the first ever Magazine Day, and I’ll be on a panel to discuss the present and future of magazine publishing with Jen Angel and Jeremy Smith.
Hope you can join me at one or more of these events.
