Upcoming SF Event: The Canvas

Hey San Franciscans! Come see me and a bunch of other cool writerly folks perform on Monday, July 21, at 8:30pm, at The Canvas Cafe (9th Avenue at Lincoln). It’s only five bucks – that’s a measly one buck per performer! It’s sure to be a great night.

Lit at the Canvas: A Celebration of San Francisco Literature

Monday, July 21st at 8:30 PM
The Canvas Cafe (9th Avenue & Lincoln, SF)
$5

This will be the first in a monthly series of themed literary events at the Canvas Cafe. The idea is simple – a reading series with a twist; something that you may not see at a normal reading. Be prepared for such up coming surprises as: song, dance, robots, live-action how-to books, and dead bodies.

Reading on the 21st contains such SF great writers as:
Novelist Elizabeth Rosner (“The Speed of Light,”)
Poet and novelist Paul Flores (“Along the Border Lies”)
Journalist Jack Boulware (“San Francisco Bizarro”)
Poet Daphne Gottlieb (“Why Things Burn”)
Writer Derek Powazek (“San Francisco Stories”)

The mad genuises behind it all:

Kevin Smokler (Emcee) is a book critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, a contributor to NPR and a resident of the San Francisco Writer’s Grotto. His weekly newsletter of book recommendations, The Smoke Signal, goes out to bibliophiles all over the world.

Melinda Adams (Producer) is a confused DIY renaissance woman, who has been an event planner, stage tech, writer, film maker, and actress. She is a resident of the sunset and just sick of having to get on a bus to see a great show.
